The Global Economies and Markets (GEM) area applies the ideas and methodologies of economics to the analysis of the business environment in which firms operate and managers make decisions. The research in the GEM area at Darden has an international dimension and focuses on international macro and international finance, banking and development economics, international trade, economic geography, the economics of water, industrial economics, and public policy and applied economics more generally.
